We are proud of our staff who assist with the care and welfare of the horses and the smooth running of the yard.
They are qualified or completing an approved apprenticeship programme.
Hi, My name is Michaela. I have been working @ Wellow Equestrian for 2 and half years. I have completed 2 years Stubbing Court apprenticeship training, coming out with:
Level 2 Intermediate apprenticeship in Horse Care and Level 2 Technical Certificate in the Principles of Horse Care in 2018.
I then followed on to do my level 3 and achieved the Advanced Apprenticeship in Equine Horse Care and Management also my level 3 Technical Certificate in the Principles of Horse Care and Management in 2019. Which lead to a full time position as a groom, whilst studying further to achieve my coaching qualifications.
Whilst I was doing my level 2 and 3 apprenticeship, I had the opportunity of part loaning a livery horse called Hooly. Which allowed me to compete at unaffiliated show jumping dressage and ODE. Also I got the opportunity to attend Master Classes with team GB coach Chris Bartle and also with Joe Whittaker.
I am now, with Jake’s help, backing and producing my own young horse.
“I’ve been with Wellow Equestrian for 3 1/2 years, and loved every minute of it.
I upgraded from dog training to horses so came to the game a bit late, but with the help of Jake, Val and the rest of the team I completed my level two apprenticeship. From there I have learnt how to drive a carriage and I’m looking forward to broadening my equine knowledge. Every day’s a school day!”
What she doesn’t say is what a whizz she is with the computer: dressage scores and times, website updates, sending you bills! Laura is your woman!
Marie from Ashvale Equestrian is one of our regular workers and a great addition to the team
